Grade 2 Assistant Teacher

Role Description
The Grade 2 Assistant Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in the Greater Boston area. The Assistant Teacher supports the lead Grade 2 teacher in implementing daily classroom instruction, reinforcing curriculum, and assisting with lesson activities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: working with small groups and individual students, helping manage classroom routines, supporting behavior expectations, and preparing instructional materials. The role also involves collaborating with faculty and staff, communicating with the lead teacher and school administration, and contributing to a positive, faith-filled learning environment. The Assistant Teacher participates in school events as needed and supports the social, emotional, and academic development of Grade 2 students. The Grade 2 Assistant Teacher also supervises students in various settings such as recess, lunch, or special subject classes, and facilitates small groups/centers, and grades assignments.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Teaching and Elementary Education to effectively support Grade 2 classroom instruction.
Candidates should possess skills in Curriculum Development and Education to assist in implementing and reinforcing standards-based lessons.
Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to interact clearly and respectfully with students, families, and colleagues.
Relevant qualifications include prior experience working with elementary-age learners in a school or educational setting.
Ability to support a mission-driven, Catholic school environment while welcoming students and families of diverse backgrounds.
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field preferred; coursework or training in child development is preferred.
Demonstrated patience, adaptability, and commitment to fostering a safe and supportive classroom climate.
