St. Augustine School is seeking a faithful, joyful, and mission-driven Grade 3 Teacher to join our faculty this school year.
Located in downtown Andover, St. Augustine School offers a high-quality Catholic education for over 445 students from Pre-K 3 through Grade 8. We are looking for a dynamic, creative educator who is eager to share in our Christ-centered mission, has a deep understanding of elementary instruction and child development, and seeks to serve not just as an instructor, but as a witness to the faith. The Grade 3 teacher works in close partnership with a grade-level colleague and regularly collaborates across grade levels and with our special education and support staff. Primary Responsibilities
Serve as the primary instructor for all subjects within the Grade 3 curriculum, including Literacy, Grammar and Vocabulary, Math, Religion, and Social Studies, using programs such as our novels-based literacy curriculum, Sadlier Grammar and Vocabulary, HMH Into Math, and the Augustine Institute's Word of Life Theology Curriculum.
Plan and implement engaging and effective lessons aligned with Archdiocese of Boston and Massachusetts state standards.
Integrate the Catholic faith into classroom instruction and daily routines.
Support students' spiritual growth through participation in Mass and the sacraments.
Use formative and summative assessments (e.g., NWEA MAP, IXL, DIBELS) to track student progress.
Foster a safe, joyful, and structured learning environment.
Communicate effectively with parents and use FACTS for grading and communication.
Collaborate closely with fellow faculty, student support staff, and administration.
Contribute positively to the school culture and community.
Participate actively in professional development and ongoing formation.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have a wholehearted commitment to the mission of Catholic education.
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Have prior elementary classroom experience; Catholic school or lead teacher experience a plus.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices.
Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Possess a deep love for children and a commitment to helping them grow in faith, academics, and character.
Show a desire for continual growth and excellence in teaching.
