Wellness Educator (Grades 7–12)
Part-Time (3/5) Faculty Position
Fontbonne l The Early College of Boston seeks an innovative, student-centered educator to join our Wellness Department as a Wellness Educator for Grades 7–12. The Wellness Educator will play a vital role in helping cultivate a school culture where well-being is valued as an essential component of learning, growth, leadership, and community. Through movement, wellness education, recreation, fitness, reflection, and relationship-building experiences, the Wellness Educator will help students develop the habits, skills, and mindsets necessary to lead healthy and balanced lives.
This position is ideal for an educator who believes that wellness education extends beyond traditional physical education and embraces the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions of well-being. As Fontbonne continues to expand and refine its wellness programming, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute ideas, develop new initiatives, and help shape the future direction of wellness education across grades 7–12.
The Wellness Educator serves as a champion for student wellbeing by creating experiences that help students:
Develop confidence and self-awareness
Build healthy habits and routines
Experience joy and connection through movement
Strengthen resilience and emotional well-being
Foster positive relationships with themselves and others
Discover lifelong wellness practices
Primary Responsibilities
Teach wellness and movement-based courses for students in Grades 7–12.
Design and facilitate engaging learning experiences that support student well-being and healthy lifestyle habits.
Create inclusive movement opportunities that promote participation, confidence, physical literacy, and lifelong engagement in physical activity.
Lead and support wellness initiatives that encourage community, belonging, recreation, and healthy living.
Collaborate with Counseling, Student Life, and Mission & Ministry to support whole-student development.
Shape and develop the future direction of wellness education at Fontbonne.
Serve as a visible and positive advocate for wellness throughout the school community for both students and adults.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
Teaching experience in wellness education, health education, physical education, recreation, youth development, coaching, or related fields preferred.
Strong understanding of adolescent development, particularly the social, emotional, physical, and wellness needs of adolescent girls.
Ability to build positive relationships with students across grades 7–12.
Demonstrated commitment to inclusive and student-centered practices.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
